Corporate Yoga and Mindfulness

The human element of HR…

You really care about your employees’ physical and emotional health.

You would love to have time to check in with each one of them regularly. But with so much regulatory paperwork piling up as your business grows, it’s nearly impossible to keep your head above water.

You could have their managers do it, but they’re swamped, too.

How do you move toward a culture of health and wellness?

Your company is always on task, but is the stress of keeping up producing some negative attitudes that might be seeping into coworker relationships? Would your employees even speak up if there was an issue or would you find out after an HR explosion?

You’ve seen other companies lose creativity and morale this way and don’t want it to be what sinks your ship.

Do you hear, “Hi, how are you?” in the hallway without any empathy or eye contact? That might be a yellow flag.

Why not get ahead of a potential problem with a convenient way to let your employees breathe, bond, and even have some fun?

I come from a corporate background, and I know first-hand how easy it is to get stuck in your head.

Sitting at a computer all the time can take a toll on a body’s energy. And that lack of energy and enthusiasm can quickly spread from one person to another.

Medical research shows that sometimes even a short “movement break” can make a world of difference in the workplace. Doesn’t that sound better than an awkward forced office happy hour?

Let me tell you about the benefits of yoga and mindfulness…

Help prevent employee burnout and decrease employee turnover with yoga.

Yoga helps improve flexibility, strength, and posture so that employees are less likely to be injured on or off the job site.

Save on insurance costs. Yoga also helps with stress, depression, posture, and overall energy levels. If your employees feel physically better, they can focus on their job with a clear head instead of nagging pain and anxiety.

Breathing exercises and mindfulness meditation help clients stay focused on the present moment and task at hand, better preparing them to be able to separate one job from another and boost productivity. Even five minutes of focused concentration during meditation can translate to happier, mentally healthier employees.

Mindfulness can also halt reactionary tendencies in employees who want to “just check it off the to-do list” or who may snap at another coworker. Instead, mindfulness can help the practice pausing to come up with the most mutually beneficial solution that supports one another as well as the company’s strategic goals.

Here’s how I can help you and your team…

On-Site Classes

Healthy employees who exercise regularly are more likely to have higher job performance.

Do your high-performing, dare I say overachieving, employees have time to prioritize that? Do them a favor. Improve their work-life balance and take the planning off their to-do list by offering lunch hour or on-site, after-work yoga.

We can offer classes in a traditional mat format, and yoga for those in-office clothes is also available.

Virtual Classes

Are your employees in separate offices or working from home?

Please allow them to move and breathe wherever they are. Even 20 minutes of movement while sitting at a laptop can produce a significant On-demand or live classes are available, customized to your needs.

Workshops

  • Teambuilding classes outdoors: Movement and the elements bring a team together and give them real bonding experiences to talk about the next day in the office. No forced, cheesy ice breakers.
  • Conscious communication: Do you have talented employees you think might be holding back powerful ideas? Or notice a lack of conversation between teams? Help them learn how to share mindfully while creating a safe environment so that everyone feels heard. Then watch creativity thrive.
  • Breathing classes: Most Americans only use a small percentage of their lung capacity, and the muscles around our rib cage can atrophy from lack of use. Mindful breathing is easy to learn seated in a chair, relieves pain, lowers blood pressure, and can improve immunity.
  • Healthy Posture: One-half of all working Americans admit to having back pain symptoms each year. Give your staff the tools to stay healthy through safely aligned postures and exercises they can practice at their office chair as well as at home.

No prior yoga or meditation experience is required; and I’ll provide modifications for all levels, including chair-yoga options.
