FAQ

Where is your office located?
2132 Five Mile Line Road Penfield, NY 14526 Online sessions are also available from the comfort of your own home.

When are your office hours?

Yoga Therapy sessions are available by appointment Monday through Saturday.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are 60 minutes long.
What do we do in that 60 minutes?

The first few minutes we’ll discuss your body and what might be impacting it in your life off your yoga mat.

We’ll move through some joint warm-ups, more vigorous movements, and then some longer-held postures.

Meditation is also an option based on what is showing up for you that day.

Do I have to wear spandex?
No fancy yoga pants required to work with me. Just dress in something you’re comfortable moving in. Dressing in layers is helpful for many – it may be hard to relax and meditate at the end of session if you are cold.
What age ranges do you work with?
Teens and adults. All genders are welcome here.
Nothing is really wrong with me. I just feel a little off – can yoga therapy help?
Yes – I believe yoga therapy can be helpful at all stages of life to help you better tap into your body’s wisdom and live a more fulfilling life. Personally, some of the best sessions I have received have been when I’m really happy so that I can tap back into that happiness when I need it later on.
Is your furniture comfortable?
No, not really. No sitting on a brown leather in our sessions. I’ll have all the yoga mats, chairs, and props that we need to get you out of your head and into your body. Yoga is about making the uncomfortable, comfortable. If we’re doing an online session, you can use a yoga mat or carpet; some throw pillows and a blanket off your couch usually work great.
I have a trauma history, is yoga therapy for me?
Yes, I’ll make sure we work within your comfort zone and boundaries. Using the body in therapy vs. just talking can be very healing for past traumas.
Will I get homework?
If you would like to practice some of the postures, breathing techniques, or meditations we do on your own, I am happy to write them up for you to practice between sessions. Sometimes, what you learn on your mat is enough and neither choice is right or wrong.
How do I setup an initial appointment?

Call me at (585) 200-7209 or email Kaitlyn@TozziYoga.com. I’m happy to do a no-charge, 20-minute phone consultation as well.

What if Yoga Therapy isn’t for me?
I have a network of really awesome health professionals in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region and would love to recommend you to someone who can help you but still focuses on mindfulness and whole-body healing.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand how busy your life gets. If you need to reschedule just let me know with 24 hours’ notice. If that’s not possible, you will be charged half of your session fee.
What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check, FSA, HSA MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Venmo, and PayPal. Self-Directed services also accepted.

What if I can’t bend myself into a pretzel?
Thank you. The yoga we’re doing is about meaningful life change, not contortionism. (Dancers, gymnasts, and circus performers still welcome!)
Is this religious?

No, I was actually raised in a Catholic family. Practicing yoga and yoga therapy may help you move closer to your religion and spirituality. Alternatively, if you had a poor experience with religion or spirituality that is still being held in your body, we can work through that together.

Your religious background or lack thereof will not make me treat you any differently. It all gets to be here.

What kind of yoga are you trained in?

I am a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist. Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is a holistic healing art that invites presence and awareness, using a yoga-based mind-body process.

Using age-old yogic and contemporary and compatible mind-body approaches to deeper presence and awareness, we can know and experience ourselves more fully. Out of this knowing and experience, we are more able to embrace the opportunity for change, growth, and enhanced wellbeing in body, feelings, thought, and spirit.

I also have my RYT-500 Yoga Teacher certification in vinyasa yoga and specialize in alignment yoga. I am trained in restorative yoga and foam rolling, as well as being an ACE certified group exercise instructor. All of that might show up in your session.

Can you do this with a group?
Absolutely, call or email me to schedule that.
